Our founder and mechanic, Nick Barnes, has been working on engines for 38 years. As a kid, he was given a dirt bike that was non-running. He was told that if he could fix it, he could keep it. Having only worked on small lawn mower engines before, it was a major leap in abilities. But after fixing that first bike, he never stopped.

 

Nick maintained his passion, expanded to new engines, and built invaluable experience throughout his life. He has always functioned as his own mechanic. From 2015 to 2020, he worked as a motorcycle mechanic for racers in the GNCC racing series. Both his work before the race and repairs on the track were noticed by other racers, leading him to open Striker Performance, his motorsports engine shop.
